Program on WCPM-AM 1280: “History Alive”

Join Kentucky Coal Museum Curator Phyllis Sizemore and community folklorist Theresa Osborne, for a 30-minute MP3 broadcast program “History Alive”, to be aired on WCPM-AM 1280 Monday mornings at 10:00 am. Sizemore and Osborne share stories from the coal fields, as well as conducting interviews at places of historical significance throughout the county with local personalities who have noteworthy chronicles to share.  This is a collaborative effort with Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College’s Archives Department and the Kentucky Oral History Commission.

The broadcast is informal in style, creating a conversational atmosphere where their featured guests will feel comfortable in relating what Harlan County historical accounts they have witnessed and experienced.

For more information about the Kentucky Coal Museum, including becoming a museum volunteer, contact Sizemore at 606-848-1530. If you know of someone that would be interested in being interviewed about their life in the area, especially the early years of the area, please contact Phyllis or Teresa.
